Roco Z21 NewGen

In 2025, Modelleisenbhn GmbH (Roco and Fleischmann) announced the renewal of the Z21 system and it has been available since September 1st. The following are now available:

  • The new Z21 start NewGen (white Z21 article number 1000001, replaces the previous 10833),
  • The Z21 Professional Digital set (black Z21, article number 1000020, replaces the previous 10834)
  • The new WLANMaus NewGen (article number 1008001)

The new Z21 start in particular boasts:

  • WiFi included,
  • Maximum output current 3A,
  • Control of up to 9,999 locomotives (and wagons),
  • Control of up to 2,048 decoders in the points
  • USB-C port for charging the new WLAN Maus NewGen

The recommended price of the Z21 start is 169.90 EUR.

The new WLAN Maus NewGen has a new 2-inch color display, while the other buttons and the rotary knob remain the same as before. It can also use rechargeable batteries (not included) and is charged via a USB-C cable. On the new display, you can select locomotives from the collection loaded in the new Z21 and as a result, the digital functions of each locomotive are visible. Also, thanks to the new display, it is now easier to program decoders in locomotives and other digital devices. The recommended price is 149.90 EUR.

The Z21 Professional Digital set consists of the new Z21 digital center, WiFi router, WLAN Maus NewGen and power supply. The capabilities of the new digital center remain the same as the current black Z21. The recommended price is 599.90 EUR.

AlbertModell Smnps 2027

Hungarian model railway manufacturer AlbertModell announces a new model of the Smnps type wagon in H0 scale. It is a flat wagon for transporting heavy and long loads, with the exception of one type, the wagons have fixed side vertical poles. These wagons are usually used to transport pipes, flat steel, and bars of various profiles. You can read more about these wagons in the brochure on the TrainsDepot website (in English).

This year (2026) Austrian model train manufacturer Roco celebrates 66th anniversary. With this occasion they will prepare a special edition of loco ÖBB 1216 together with Austrian Railways ÖBB with identical locomotive and colour scheme. The special loco will have the number 1216-006-7 and it will be available in H0 scale manufactured by Roco (analog-DC, digital with sound and AC with sound) as well as in N scale manufactured by Fleischmann (analog and digital with sound).

The models will be produced in limited quantity and accoridng to the preorders gathered until April 20 th 2026 or until the quantity shall be sold out. Here is the list of the models with recommened manufacturer prices:
